Frequently Asked Counselling Questions
FAQs
How do I seek help?
There are several ways in which we can provide services for you. First is to contact us by either phone, fax or e-mail. We can set up with you either in-person, one on one counselling services, at our office in London or Woodstock, or via the phone or skype.
Where can I find the specific counselling that I need?
It is best to enter counselling with a goal in mind, however knowing the exact problem and the exact type of counsellor that you need to match that challenge is not necessary. Even though we have a substantial list as to the life issues that we address, there are many more and sometimes there are several issues. Being specific is not a requirement to begin counselling.
What is best suited – counselling or coaching?
Counselling is best served for individuals who has a challenge to overcome in order to do well in life. Coaching is a good method for stepping forward in a new direction in order to be the best that you can be.
What is best method for approaching the finances of counselling?
Check with your employer as to your coverage. Every employer has a different method of coverage. We also provide private services and the fee is dependent upon the type and duration of services required.
If you are in receipt of your Canadian Pension Plan (CPP) funding you are also eligible for counselling coverage.
When is it best to seek counselling?
It is best to seek counselling before the divorce papers are served, before the situation escalates out of control, and before the court date. This is being proactive and dealing with the issues as they arise, not waiting for things to be dire and before it is too late.
What happens if I can’t make my appointment?
We ask that if you would like to make an appointment to prepay through our website in order to secure your date and time of your first appointment. Our cancellation policy is 48 hours notice. We also provide the option of phone counselling or Skype counselling if you are unable to make the appointment in person. Session charges still apply.
For our student services we apply a $25 use of room fee to cover the cost for a no-show or late cancelled appointment.
